Avoid direct sunlight and bright rooms if possible as this will alter the colour of the kelp sequins at a faster rate. Over a period of time, the colour of the kelp sequins will alter.
These pieces should be handled carefully and gently to avoid damage.
To dust the piece, use a hair dryer on the COLD setting and blow over the piece in circular and up and down motions. To further clean the sequins, use a damp (very well squeezed) cloth and very gently rub the sequins. Use a dry cloth to take off any damp that is left on the sequins. (I can provide a video demonstrating the above). Please note that the odd sequin may fall off during the cleaning process. This is perfectly ok. The sequins can be very delicate, so please be mindful of this.
Due to the natural qualities of the seaweed, hot temperatures and humidity will cause the seaweed to sweat and stick together. When you start to notice this, please use the damp and dry cloth cleaning method to relieve the moist sequins.
